I do consider that the only thing that could convict these people is Uranium 1 crimes. I just don't know if there is enough evidence to convict these people. I do also like your perspective about how important local governments are. I will give a personal example. During hurricane Ida my townhouse building was flooded. There were insane state laws that we had to supposedly comply with that had nothing to do with our flood. All our homes were deemed unlivable when there was between 3 ft to 6 ft of flood waters that lasted only 15 minutes.(a flood gate was 100% opened that created a false tsunami flood, which has yet to be investigated). Many people decided to use FEMA to deal with this. It took these people almost a year to fix their house while mold and other issues lingered for months while they waited for FEMA help. This of course increased the cost of them fixing their home to include mold removal and now they are required to carry insurance that is insane. Now me and my husband decided to fix our place ourselves and the local government helped us along the way. We immediately removed all insulation and carpeting that help moisture. We used bleach to kill any fungus and mold. Our local gov. engineers gave us advice all along the way because we were doing everything ourselves and as owners had a right to do as we wished with our property. They were good at advising us of how to keep our place safe. We completed our work in 2 months and our home is free of any local injunctions that would stop us from selling our house if we wished. We also are not required to have flood insurance. Those who did have it were paid by their insurance company via FEMA. The insurance companies paid ZERO. Our local gov. refused to force us to comply with laws that did not apply to our house. An example was to completely replace our heat pump and hot water heater that were electric. Ours only had to be cleaned and new electrical that was under water. The state law is based on gas furnaces and hot water heaters yet require it for all in floods.
