In today’s show, I examine the current controversies within the Michigan Republican Party (MIGOP), look at video and photographic evidence of what Kristina Karamo really did at the state convention, examine the brand of Christian Nationalism promoted by Mike Flynn as expressed by Karamo, and discuss Ken Beyers’ lame appeal to President Trump.
I then bring my good friend Joe Brandis on to discuss what he has done - and what YOU can do THIS WEEK - to ensure that Trump and downballot Republicans win in less than 45 days.
While it is easy to complain about what the state party, the RNC, Trump’s team, Turning Point and others are or aren’t doing, the responsibility is on each one of us to get to work and do what we can to ensure victory.
One of the most common complaints levied by pundits against state GOPs, the RNC, and other parties is the lack of an effective ballot chase program. Charlie Kirk raised tens of millions of dollars for Turning Point Action with the promise of a nationwide ballot chase program, but, here in Michigan at least, it appears to be primarily a data harvesting operation for TPA’s potential profit in future election cycles.
While these criticisms are valid, they do nothing to help achieve victory. Joe Brandis has exhibited genuine local leadership by developing an extremely simple, low-cost, three step plan to effectively chase 5,000 Republican absentee ballots in his township. This is something you can start TODAY and execute in your city or town in the next week as absentee ballots get mailed out in Michigan next Wednesday.
Joe said that nearly half of absentee voters in his township did not vote in the primary. In 2022 we had about 200,000 voters not vote in Michigan. While that number is likely to diminish in the general election, it is clear that the absentee ballot (AV) voters do need some encouragement and reminder to turn their ballots in - and to vote for downballot Republicans.
And that is exactly what Joe’s plan does in these three steps:
Acquire voter data for your town/district/precinct from your county GOP, an organization like Rescue Michigan, etc. Get the AV list from your local clerk to verify the accuracy of the data.
Print up a simple but complete voter guide for your precinct/township and stuff in bags to use as a doorknocker for lit drops. This cost of this should be around $.10 per door. Ask your county party and fellow PD/PCs to help cover the cost if it’s an issue.
Contact the other precinct delegates/committeemen in your township/precinct to get help dropping the lit at the specified addresses. In Joe’s township, there are 38 PDs and they’ll be able to drop 3500 bags of lit in just a few hours/PD.
It’s really that simple. Get away from social media for a few evenings this week and get it done!
