Ep. 8: On Flynn, Oklahoma and Holy War

Lies, malice, wrath, anger, slander and obscene talk. Let's put it all away.

Today I opened with some big current issues - the longshoreman strike and its broader implications that I find fascinating - then expose a recent series of unrelated, blatant lies promoted by Lara Logan and Ann Vandersteel.

Then I review a documentary PBS and AP produced in 2022 titled “Michael Flynn’s Holy War.” You can watch it in its entirety here.

There are many important pieces of information in that documentary, including the fact that Oklahoma’s Jackson Lahmeyer was Flynn’s first political endorsement. Lahmeyer says in the documentary that Flynn not only endorsed him but recruited him to run against incumbent Republican James Lankford.

Layhmeyer ran on an openly Christian Nationalist platform, saying that if he didn’t win his race for U.S. Senate “we will face 1000 years of darkness,” and was beat by nearly a 3-1 margin.

This is just one of several examples of Flynn’s heavy handed involvement in Oklahoma Republican politics. In 2022 he also enlisted Dr. Randy Grellner to run for U.S. Senate in a special election to fill the seat vacated by Jim Inhoff. Grellner gained just 4% of the vote in a crowded primary and this year he won the Republican nomination for state senate, again with Flynn’s endorsement.

This year Flynn also recruited Paul Bondar to run for the U.S. House in Oklahoma’s 4th Congressional District. The only problem is he didn’t live in Oklahoma until he decided to run in Oklahoma. He lost by nearly a 3-1 margin.

Is it any wonder Flynn called for a Christ-denying smear campaign against me? One of Flynn’s friends in Michigan, Donna Brandenburg, posted the same hit piece at the same time on her Telegram channel, where she blocked me so I couldn’t respond.

Further in the podcast I discussed Christian Nationalism, how it is manifested in the Flynn circles, and some of the dangers it presents to the Republican Party and this country, and presented a clear scriptural argument against it from Colassians 3 - some verses I have never seen the Flynn Christian Nationalists share.

CORRECTION NOTICE: The original video above was edited to omit the mention of Leslie NesSmith in a way that implied that she was a potential head of the snake in Oklahoma. While she helped found the “OK Action Team” and supported Sean Roberts and Wayne Hill, who were the Flynn-linked candidates for state chair and vice chair, I was told after this podcast aired that NesSmith is definitely not leader in this movement and has distanced herself from it. I apologize for this error.
