Please forward this email to anyone who wants to understand some of the potential threats to Trump being posed at the upcoming RNC National Convention in Milwaukee.
I jumped on this live stream in the hours after Trump’s conviction, hoping to bring some sane and clear-headed thought to the sea of outrage that ensued.
Now, clearly, the actions of a Democrat political operative posing as Judge Merchan are outrageous and reprehensible. But so are the calls throughout the Flynn network for going beyond the bounds of our Constitution and legal system for “justice.”
As I shared in my most recent Members podcast, Mike Flynn has already announced some very specific plans for the national convention. I share in the above podcast what is likely part of the plan that they are not disclosing publicly, as it would create a PR problem for them.
The more money Trump raises and the more his popularity grows in response to the conviction, the less likely it becomes that Flynn could steal the nomination.
That could all change, however, if they succeed at removing House Speaker Mike Johnson and allowing Democrat Hakeem Jeffries to become speaker. If this were to happen, I believe Jeffries’ first action would be to pass a resolution declaring J6 was an insurrection.
The SCOTUS ruling on the Colorado ballot case said that Trump could not be removed from state ballots because, in part, one person could not declare someone an insurrectionist. That would take an act of congress. While I do not believe it would survive an appeal to the Supreme Court, if this happened in the days before the convention - especially in conjunction with sentencing Trump to prison on July 11 - Democrat secretaries of state would delight in declaring their removal of Trump from the ballot in their states - including key swing states like Arizona and Michigan.
Imagine being a national delegate (I know several of my subscribers are national delegates) and seeing pictures of Trump in leg shackles and hearing that Trump might not be on the ballot in key swing states - all in the days right before the convention. Imagine being bombarded with messages from main stream media and from Flynn’s podcaster network that Trump is no longer electable. Imagine the rules have been suspended and chaos and confusion reigns on the convention floor. And imagine narratives systematically and “spontaneously” circulating, “Look at General Flynn! He’s like Trump but without all the baggage!”
On top of that, imagine the chaos Flynn is trying to muster outside of the convention, recruiting thousands of Saul Alinsky type “ULTRA MAGA” activists outside of the convention, at the delegates’ hotels, intimidating and harassing the delegates - especially those who have controlled alternates behind them.
They say that they are doing that to ensure Trump’s nomination is not stolen by “the establishment.” And certainly their followers are sincere about supporting Trump. But would they still in the event Trump is not just in prison but he’s been removed from state ballots? Or might they use their support and intimidation to try to rob Trump of his choice of VP and force him to choose Flynn for that role?
The potential for unpredictable outcomes is significant, and underscores the importance of being level-headed, unemotional, and #NeverFlynn.
Even more so, it underscores the need to make sure Mike Johnson remains speaker.
We need to reject all the calls for retaliation, for hatred of the GOP (including claims of it being the “uniparty”), for removal of Johnson, for anger at RNC leadership, insistence on voting only on election day, and anything else that would distract us from working at getting out the vote and winning in November.
